Microsoft has officially announced the Xbox Nano Controller, a new, smaller, and more affordable gamepad designed to complement its existing hardware lineup. This device is positioned as a portable alternative to the standard Xbox Series X controller.
The Nano Controller measures approximately 5 inches in length and weighs 3.5 ounces. Priced at $49.99, it is significantly cheaper than the standard $69.99 model. The device supports both standard Xbox wireless connectivity and Bluetooth, allowing for broad compatibility with laptops, tablets, and smart TVs.
Microsoft intends to bundle the controller with select Samsung TVs during the holiday season, including a two-month Game Pass subscription. The company is also reportedly negotiating a similar deal for new Meta Quest owners, though these details remain unfinalized.
While this marks Microsoft's first entry into the mini controller market, the form factor is already established by competitors like 8BitDo and CRKD. Preorders for the device are currently open, with a general release scheduled for November.
