Keychron has entered the magnetic switch market with the launch of the G6 HE wireless mouse. This device introduces a unique MagOptic hybrid switch system, which combines traditional mechanical feel with optical durability and magnetic distance sensing capabilities.
The MagOptic technology utilizes a front-mounted optical sensor for trigger detection and a rear-mounted Hall effect sensor for depth sensing. This configuration allows for 11 levels of adjustment within a 0.65 mm range, enabling features like rapid clicking, customizable travel distance, and multi-point triggering while avoiding the interference issues common in purely magnetic designs.
The mouse features a lightweight chassis design, weighing 42 g for the internal battery model and 49 g for the swappable battery version. Users can further customize the weight by adding 15 g or 25 g weights. Internally, it is equipped with a PixArt PAW3955 sensor supporting 40,000 DPI and a Nordic 54LM20A chip capable of 8,000 Hz polling rates.
The internal battery model is priced at US$ 79.99, while the swappable battery version starts at US$ 89.99. The latter is available in seven colors, whereas the internal battery model is limited to black. Battery life varies by polling rate, reaching up to 191 hours at 1,000 Hz or 271 hours via Bluetooth.
