Microsoft has officially unveiled the Xbox Nano, a new, smaller controller priced at $49.99. This device is specifically engineered for portability, targeting younger players, individuals with smaller hands, or users who require a compact option for gaming while traveling.
Measuring just over five inches in length, the controller is shorter than most smartphones. Despite its reduced size, it retains the standard button layout found on traditional Xbox controllers. It also features a new programmable Action Button, which users can customize to trigger gameplay captures, screenshots, or other system shortcuts.
The device includes a built-in rechargeable battery, eliminating the need for AA batteries or external charging packs. Connectivity options include both Xbox Wireless and Bluetooth, allowing for compatibility with Xbox consoles, PCs, tablets, and phones. While early leaks suggested the inclusion of a small connectivity screen, the final shipping model omits this feature.
The Xbox Nano is available for pre-order starting today for $49.99. Microsoft confirmed that the controller is scheduled to begin shipping to customers in November.
