Hogwarts Legacy is receiving a DLSS 5 update on November 5. While the initial reveal of the technology in March drew significant negative attention for its impact on character models, such as the widely criticized appearance of Grace, the new implementation appears to avoid these issues. Nvidia's promotional materials indicate the feature now focuses almost exclusively on environmental lighting and materials.
According to PC Gamer, the developers have seemingly masked off character faces or significantly reduced the intensity of the AI effects. Comparisons between the initial reveal and the current update show that character features remain unchanged when the feature is toggled, a stark contrast to the earlier demonstration.
Beyond Hogwarts Legacy, the action RPG Where Winds Meet is also confirmed to receive Neural Rendering support in the near future. Similar to the Hogwarts update, early indications suggest the developers are prioritizing environmental enhancements while avoiding the controversial AI beauty filter effects on character models.
