Publisher Daedalic Entertainment and developer Octofox Games have released a new update for the cooperative action-adventure title Wild Woods. This patch introduces a permanent progression system and customizable control options, allowing players to enhance their feline characters across multiple play sessions.
The core of this update is the jungle survival progression system. As players traverse the forest, they earn experience to unlock new abilities, challenges, and rewards. Resources gathered during adventures can now be spent to boost permanent attributes and unlock Ancestral Marks, which provide powerful bonuses to support diverse character builds and playstyles.
Beyond progression, the update adds new cosmetic options, including additional cat skins, wagon appearances, and emotes, alongside a dynamic 3D preview feature. Players can now customize keybindings for keyboards, mice, and controllers to suit their personal preferences. The developers also implemented balance adjustments and optimizations specifically for the nighttime wagon defense sequences.
In Wild Woods, one to four players control brave kittens tasked with protecting a wooden wagon while traveling through a dangerous forest. Gameplay involves gathering resources during the day to fortify the wagon, then defending it against bandits like rabbits and badgers at night. Players must decide whether to explore for treasure to purchase upgrades or push toward the final goal of challenging the Bandit King.
