Humble Reeds and publisher Vsoo Games have announced the upcoming narrative adventure game Heidi’s Legacy: Mountains Calling. Inspired by the classic children’s novel, the game follows an adult Heidi as she returns to the Swiss Alps to reconnect with her roots and rebuild a charming village.
Gameplay involves exploring forests and valleys while managing goats. Players must feed the animals, provide toys, and collect milk and wool to support village reconstruction. Additionally, the game features crafting and trading systems for items like cheese, clothing, and herbs.
The experience emphasizes character relationships and exploration. Players can unlock new movement abilities to traverse the environment, complete quests, and engage in dialogue choices to deepen bonds with villagers. The game is presented in a soft watercolor art style.
A free demo is currently available for download during the Steam Next Fest. The full game is scheduled to launch on Steam in December 2026, with Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5 versions following in January 2027. Supported languages include English, French, German, Japanese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
