Independent developer Amagra, under the label TEAM RESERVOIR DOGAMES, announced that the mystery visual novel Hirugao will launch on PC via Steam on October 27. The game is inspired by 90s-era visual novels, specifically citing the influence of titles like Kamaitachi no Yoru.

Set in Korea during the year 2000, the narrative follows a serial murder case unfolding in a red-light district. Players experience the story through three distinct perspectives: a woman suspicious of a man, the man himself, and a detective pursuing the culprit. The game utilizes a visual style featuring live-action-inspired backgrounds paired with silhouette characters.

Gameplay mechanics rely on player choices that branch the narrative. Selecting incorrect options can lead to one of 10 bad endings, resulting in a game-over state. The title is designed for multiple playthroughs, featuring a single true ending that reveals a twist, encouraging players to re-examine the story after their initial completion.

Hirugao is scheduled for release on October 27. A demo covering the prologue through the second chapter is currently available on Steam, and the title is slated to participate in the Steam Next Fest. While Japanese and Korean are confirmed, the developer is considering adding English and Chinese language support.
