Frontier Developments has released Planet Zoo 2, a management simulation sequel featuring new aquatic and flying animals, alongside expanded wildlife conservation systems. While the game has garnered attention for its enhanced graphics and realistic habitat design, it currently holds a mixed reception on Steam.
The title introduces significant gameplay additions, including the ability to construct large aquariums for species like the blacktip reef shark and aviaries for birds such as the toco toucan. Players can also utilize improved terrain brushes and path systems to manage global wildlife sanctuaries, with some users praising the immersive, realistic experience.
Despite these features, the game is experiencing critical technical issues, particularly on GeForce RTX 5070 and RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards. Users report severe rendering errors, such as distorted character skin tones and broken textures. Additional problems include screen flickering during Korean text input and server connectivity failures within the franchise mode.
Developer Frontier Developments has acknowledged these stability concerns and is working on patches to resolve the reported bugs. As of the latest data, the game ranks second on the global top sellers list, trailing behind the off-road driving title Over the Hill.
